Outbound Driver

Anderson Hay is seeking an Outbound Driver to add to the Ellensburg fleet. This position is expected to safely operate equipment to deliver loads to and from the ports. While designated as Outbound, this driver must also be able to occasionally operate on an Inbound schedule, delivering loads from fields and storage facilities to the plant as needed. In addition to 2 years of CDL experience, they will need to have a Doubles Endorsement.

Pay Range: $65,000-$109,000 per year (pay by load/distance depending on outbound/inbound)

Job Functions

  • Drive semi to and from ports following all safety protocols
  • Deliver load following port protocol
  • Maintain equipment and service as needed
  • Complete DOT and safety records in accordance with regulations and company policy
  • Follow all DOT and safety regulations at all times
  • Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain truck and take appropriate measures to insure maximum fuel efficiency
  • Pick up clean, undamaged, empty containers
  • Occasionally operate on the Inbound schedule as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Other Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ driving experience
  • Hold CDL License & TWIC Card with clean driving record
  • Hold Doubles Endorsement
  • Previous hazardous driving experience
  • Previous port experience

Physical Demands

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to sit.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

  • Fuel Mileage (Fuel Mileage goals)
  • Reliability. (Reporting to work timely and consistently)
  • Knowledge Skill (Weekly audit on DOT logs and paperwork)
  • Compliance (Reporting maintenance issues in a timely manner)
  • Utilization (Number of loads safely delivered to port)

Must have processes for Top Initial Priorities

  • Driver will shadow veteran driver, and veteran driver will shadow driver to develop and determine understanding of the safety rules driver capability, and the Anderson Hay & Grain way.
